Well Hello there.....
- this is an open source / public project - collaboration welcome - ❤️ TMO

- this tweet contains more of the idea/concept
basin.protocol
basin.protocol is the open source code that runs basin.chain
basin.protocol is primarily designed for basin.chain use cases of funding and operating multi-stakeholder public good real property projects in perpetuity. basin.global projects are a form of Global Commons and are currently proposed as "protocol owned real assets" governed by the basinDAO community. basinDAO is currently focused on projects that restore, regenerate and conserve Natural Capital at scale with an emphasis on climate mitigation (which of course includes carbon), climate adaptation as well as biodiversity and ecosystem services.
However as an open source project basin.protocol is intended to be extensible to other multi-stakeholder real asset uses such as: governments, institutions, other public good projects, infrastructure, project finance, churches, schools and even private property portfolios, REITs, apartment buildings, HOA's, mobile home parks, etc
basin.protocol will manage basin.global's projects/properties "basin to basin" on basin.chain for the following functions. Some are easy, most are not, several are probably unrealistic. But that is what we are here to figure out:
-
Project/Property Funding
- initial feasibility funding
- acquisition funding
- restoration / regeneration / redevelopment funding
- operations and maintenance funding
- reserves and replacement funding
-
Insurance
- title insurance - IRL
- additional defi insurance
- other title risks
- crypto risk
- property insurance
-
governance and management
- local / global multi-stakeholder interests
- JV with project developers and local operators
- local community
- incentives
- value exchange
- DAO's of DAO?
-
interchain and EVM interoperability
- composability - stack interaction
- I’m calling “stacks” - things property provides. Maybe another name?
- MRV - Measurement Reporting and Verification property level
- i.e. Regen, OFP, NCX
- site inspections
- books inspections
- Tokenomics
- governance by DAO
- permanent conservation burn mechanism
- temporary conservation staking mechanism
- Project Core Benefits - natural capital stacking
-
property rights > see
Property Rights (working doc)
- deed registry
- existing title restrictions and exceptions
- recordation of covenant in jurisdiction re basin.chain governance
- really don't see why all property transactions on that property from then on could not be solely on chain. covenant is on record and becomes part of chain of title. Like a little (or BIG) note that says "sorry, nothing to see here (at the clerk or courthouse), it is all on chain over at.... .xyz etc)
- sub-surface rights
- O&G / Fossil Fuels
- aggregate / gravel etc
- other minerals
- surface rights
- carbon rights
- eco-credits
- biodiversity
- water rights
- air rights
- use rights
- leases/tenancy rights
-
Tenancy and Use management,
- rights, obligations, capital flows
-
reversion / reparation
- indigenous / tribal peoples
- reversion to local community / government
- reversion to other local or aligned group
- basinDAO exit or hold in perpetuity
- recycle capital
- do more projects
